Welcome to Tiki Island home of the Neon Tiki Tribe. A series of new Super Hero stories with tales of action and adventure, combined with “real life” educational messages.
Ben and Greg have a school project to work on together after school. They make plans to work on it at Ben’s house, but while Ben is waiting for Greg, he gets an email saying that he has won lots of money. Unknowing of the dangers of the internet, Ben sees a quick way to bring his mom and dad money like a lottery and replies to the email giving them his home address. But what Ben doesn’t know is that sometimes on the other end of the email are evil people, or even worse the evil Ku Tiki Tribe.
Greg finally shows up and Ben nervously tells him everything that happened showing him his emails. When the door bell rings, Greg quickly realizes who’s behind the whole scam. He calls the Neon Tikis for help!
Will the Neon Tikis make it in time to save the boys from this real internet danger? What will Greg and Ben do to buy them some time before the good guys get there? Was it wise for Ben to give out his personal information over the internet? When is it OK to meet someone we’ve just met online? Read Gigabytes of Disaster to learn the importance of how to stay safe on the internet, and to never meet someone you meet online, unless your mom, dad or guardian can be there with you.
(Parents / Teachers / Guardians– With more and more children having access to the internet at home and in school we hope this book helps “start the conversation” about keeping children safe from internet predators.)
